Radio Control Module

This module contains a receiver and four (4) reversible motor controllers (Novak Reactor). It is attached to a device during setup for a competition round. The power source (battery pack) is part of the competition device. The crystal frequency of the receiver in each radio control module is matched to the crystal frequency of a transmitter in a joystick controller.
  • Control Module:
    • length = 149 mm [5.88 inches]
    • width = 57 mm [2.25 inches]
    • height = 48 mm [1.88 inches]
    • mass = 263 grams [9.25 ounces]
    • input voltage = 7.2 to 12 Volts DC
    • load resistance = not less than 3 Ohms per output channel
    • current draw = 200 milli-Amps (minimum)

  • Battery input:
    • input voltage = 7.2 to 12 Volts DC
    • input current = 0 to 3.1 Amps
    • battery input = 6-position (6p6c, RJ-12) modular connector
      (white connector, labelled "B")
    • battery input color code and pinout (65k PDF)
      (gray cable sheath):

DO NOT REVERSE THE POLARITY OF THE INPUTS TO THE R/C MODULE.
DOING SO WILL SHORT OUT THE BATTERIES.

  • Motor output:
    • controller output = 8-position (8p8c, RJ-45) modular connector
      (blue connector, labeled "M")
    • controller output color code and pinout (65k PDF)
      (blue cable sheath):

  • Antenna Output:
    • antenna connector: 4-position (4p4c, RJ-11) modular connector
    • antenna connector color code and pinout:

      Red Green Black Yellow
    • All wires are connected to antenna signal.
